FLAGS

6/5/2025 Update

With the recent inclement weather, we had an issue with our community flag.

Luckily, members of our neighborhood took the motto “See something, say something” to report an issue with the flag.

Our Board President removed the ripped US Flag and our Board Member at Large, Al, helped repair the flag pole line.

We temporarily have the Texas Flag as the US Flag got tattered in the wind.

FLAG Updates

Displaying the U.S. and Texas Flags in Our Community

The United States and Texas flags are symbols of pride, unity, and shared history.

In our community, we ask that residents who choose to fly either flag do so with respect and in accordance with proper flag etiquette.

The U.S. flag should always be flown above the Texas flag when both are displayed on the same pole, or to the observer’s left when on separate poles.

Flags should be in good condition—free of rips, fading, or excessive wear—and should be taken down in inclement weather unless they are all-weather flags.

Flags should be illuminated at night if displayed 24/7.

Otherwise, they should be raised at sunrise and taken down at sunset. When the U.S. President or Texas Governor orders the flag to be flown at half-staff—typically in times of national mourning or to honor fallen public servants—flags should be lowered to half-staff until sunset of the designated day(s).

You can check official half-staff notices at halfstaff.org or gov.texas.gov. Flying the flags correctly reflects the care and dignity we strive to uphold in our community.
